frise Guadeloupe-Fr

The islands of the Guadeloupe... is for all

A group of islands in the Caribbean, in the heart of the Lesser Antilles.

Located in the Lesser Antilles between Dominica and Antigua the stunning French archipelago of Guadeloupe is composed of five islands – Basse-Terre, Grande-Terre, Marie-Galante, Les Saintes, and La Desirade, closely strung together by beautiful waters and an efficient ferry network.

Discover the “Pearl of the French-Caribbean” the perfect island-hopping destination, combining the best of the French modern infrastructure with genuine Caribbean heritage.

Basse-Terre, Majestic

At the foot of the verdant tropical Rainforest of the Guadeloupe National Park, the imposing silhouette of La Soufriere volcano sets you a challenge.

Follow one of the many waymarked hiking trails – some of which are easily accessible – and discover a rich ecosystem with an impressive number of endemic species. In this lush setting with breathtaking waterfalls, a thousand and one friendly species beg for your attention.

Are you ready for adventure?

Cousteau Reserve

Surrounding the Pigeon Islands, the Cousteau Reserve is a protected underwater reserve with vibrant coral reefs and gardens, a protected marine life, and several wrecks heavily covered with sponges.

There are many outfitters at Malendure beach offering dive packages for beginners and seasoned divers alike

Grande-Terre, Welcoming

From the north to the south, everything is about enchantment and exploration. At the centre of the sugar cane production, Grande-Terre offers a rich heritage.

Do you enjoy relaxing? Tranquil and delicately shaded white sand beaches await you. In Grande-Terre turquoise lagoons share the coastline with amazing surfing spots.

And the many restaurants and hotels that line the Riviera bear witness to the Art of French-Creole Cuisine.

Pointe a Pitre

The New Orleans of the Caribbean Located in front of the harbor overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Pointe à Pitre is the heart of Guadeloupe Islands . Soak up the magical atmosphere of the city!

Admire the colonial buildings such as the Place de la Victoire or the Marché Saint-Antoine where you will be taken away by the smell of spices, fruits and vegetables.

Le Moule, facing north east on the crescent-shaped coastline of Grande-Terre, is the main surfers hangout. Good exposure to N-E swells, it’s the most consistent and crowded wave around.

Normally this reef works as a 2-4ft (0.5-1.2m) onshore left with a juicy take-off right in front of the car park.

Situated between Pointe-Noire and boiling, Malendure is a Mecca for scuba diving. Several diving clubs have indeed established domicile its sand beach black in the front of the Cousteau reserve, a marine protected area around the islets Pigeon, where Captain Cousteau himself shot some scenes of his feature film the silent world in 1955, you will find also the bust of Commander Cousteau to 12 m depth

The clubs offer packages for divers that beginners and glass-bottomed boats allow to observe the fauna and flora marine without getting wet

For those who have never been diving, initiations are proposed. And believe me, no need to go very deep for a wonderful show.

Furthermore you have the possibility to discover the area on the Nautilus, a glass-bottomed boat.

Two wrecks have been leaked intentionally in order to create artificial reefs (around which the fauna and flora will grow) and new dive sites. It thus helped unload the very frequent ilets dive sites.

Augustin Fresnel was a ship of the lighthouses and beacons (service responsible for anchor buoys for navigation). It sank in 2003 and is based in 30 m of water

The Franjack was an hourglass vessel of 50 m long. It sank in 1996 and is based in 22 m of water

Les Saintes :

Composed of 2 populated islands, Terre-de-Haut (5 km2) and Terre-de-Bas (8 km2) and seven islets. Must not forget to inform you to dive at the Saintes trips or more than twenty listed dive sites are available. The quality of diving and marine life are really worth the fee charged for this day of excurtion.
